Fair Use Policy

Articulate Intelligence (MapleTech Pte. Ltd.) — Fair Use Policy

To ensure high-quality grading for all users and to protect system stability, all subscription plans are covered by a Fair Use Policy. This policy allows generous usage while preventing misuse, spam, or automated uploads.

Below are the fair-use guidelines for all plans (Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly).

1. Unlimited Uploads (Within Reasonable Use)

All subscription plans allow unlimited composition and situational writing uploads, as long as the usage remains within reasonable educational needs.

Reasonable use means:

  • Up to 2–3 compositions per day
  • Up to 15–20 compositions per week
  • Usage aligned with a typical student’s learning pace

Most students upload 1–2 compositions per week. The above limits already allow far more.

These are not hard caps — they are triggers for a usage review only.

2. What Counts as Excessive or Misuse

To maintain fair access for everyone, the following behaviours are considered misuse:

  • Bulk uploading of dozens of compositions in one day
  • Uploads generated by bots, automated scripts, or mass scanning
  • Using the service to grade homework for multiple unrelated students
  • Using a parent/student subscription inside a tuition centre or school
  • Submitting pages that are not student writing (blank pages, random text, etc.)
  • Re-submitting the same composition repeatedly to stress-test the system

If excessive behaviour is detected, we may temporarily limit speed or request clarification.

3. Educational Purpose Only

Subscriptions are intended for normal home learning use.

Not allowed under a parent plan:

  • A class or group of students sharing one plan
  • Teachers submitting student work under a personal subscription

We offer school / tuition centre plans for multi-student usage.

4. Family Use — Up to 3 Siblings Allowed

Each subscription may be used by:

  • The main student, and
  • Up to two additional siblings
→ Maximum 3 children per account

This reflects real family usage and keeps subscriptions fair for parents.

To ensure clear grading records, parents should include each child’s name/class when sending compositions.

5. What Happens If Fair Use Is Exceeded?

We will not immediately block or penalise your account.

Instead:

  1. You may receive a polite WhatsApp notice requesting clarification.
  2. If misuse continues, we may temporarily limit the upload frequency.
  3. In extreme cases, accounts may be paused until usage is normalised.

Most normal users will never hit these limits.

6. Why Do We Have a Fair Use Policy?

To ensure:

  • Fast and reliable grading for all users
  • Stable performance of the AI system
  • Protection against spam, bots, and automated misuse
  • Fair pricing for families
  • Clear separation between parent plans and school/centre plans

7. Summary (Parent-Friendly)

You can upload compositions freely.
As long as you are using the grader for normal learning within a single household, everything is fine.
The policy only prevents unusual or exploitative use.
